A little about Gretchen Kelly:

I grew up along the Hudson River in a small town and had a great art teacher in high school that taught me all the basics. I went to the School of Visual Arts for a year and then switched into the fashion industry where I learned on the job and had a career for years in NYC. I designed women's fashions, accessories and textiles. I then expanded my design career into the home decor field designing patterns for the dinnerware and giftware industries. All along I have been painting and making art in all kinds of mediums. I focus more on my art making now and show in galleries and online. I love to paint the beauty that is all around me in the Hudson Valley. I paint weekly at a life drawing session. Recently, I have been commissioned to paint murals locally at businesses and homes. I have been an Artist in Residence in the gardens of Jane Iredale Skincare in Great Barrington and show paintings in the Jane Iredale shop. I paint en plein air at all the local waterfalls and fields and along the Hudson River and eastern coast during the warm months. It enriches my life as a creative person to be immersed in the renaissance of the Hudson Valley region. Please take a look at my website and my shop to see more of my work and follow me on Instagram and FB
